Meghan Markle’s treatment by the royal family has been called “treasonous” by King Charles’ cousin

According to an exclusive interview with The Post, a cousin of King Charles III revealed that the British royal family has a long tradition of hazing newcomers, especially women who are dating family members and that only those who are “tough as nails” tend to survive.

Christina Oxenberg, a descendant of Serbian royalty and a third cousin of King Charles III, said, “To Meghan Markle, I say, ‘What you are going through is a hellish kind of hazing.'” “If she can hold out, someone stronger will eventually come along. There are no exceptions. She even mentioned Kate Middleton as an example.

Oxenberg, 59, is the younger sister of actress Catherine Oxenberg and a writer and fashion designer in her own right. Oxenberg said their mother, Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia, was once close to Charles.

A member of the British royal family’s extended family, Christina Oxenberg, has claimed that the royals have “hazed” Meghan Markle and made fun of Kate Middleton in the past.

According to Christina Oxenberg, Meghan Markle should only wait for the hazing to pass from the royal family to someone else.

In an interview, Oxenberg revealed that the royal family found the British press’s characterization of Middleton as “Kate Middle Class” quite amusing.
Oxenberg, who has spent most of her life in the company of British royalty, recalled hearing snobbery about the new Princess of Wales.

According to Oxenberg, the royal family found it humorous that the British press dubbed Middleton “Kate Middle Class” while she was dating Prince William, now heir to the throne, before their 2011 marriage.

The Express has reported that Middleton’s parents, Carole and Michael, were called “Meet the Fockers” by the queen’s new consort, Camilla.

During the early 1980s, Prince Andrew dated Koo Stark for about 18 months before his mother, Queen Elizabeth, broke them up.

It was “very funny” to “Kate Middle Class,” “Sarah Ferguson,” and “Koo Stark,” Oxenberg said. They certainly weren’t trying to be rude, especially since she was destined to become King George III of England.

The relationship between Stark, an American actress and photographer, and Prince Andrew, a British royal, lasted for 18 months in the early 1980s before Queen Elizabeth broke them up. After the British press uncovered Stark’s appearances in soft-core porn films, the queen quickly intervened, making it clear that she did not approve of Stark as a suitable match for Prince Andrew.

It was “very flimsy,” Oxenberg told The Post. The saying goes, “There’s a good example of how you can suffer as a royal for no good reason.”

She continued, “They were both really in love.” They were meant to be together, but he was denied the opportunity to marry his soul mate. If he had wed her, we wouldn’t be here today.

After his marriage to Sarah Ferguson ended in 1996, Andrew became friends with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. In March, the prince settled with sexual-abuse accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, reportedly paying her $12 million.

For her part, Oxenberg admitted she once confided in British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell. The latter is currently appealing a 20-year sentence for her role in assisting Epstein in the recruitment of underage girls.

Princess Michael of Kent (born Marie Christine von Reibnitz), a baroness of Czech and German descent, was reportedly subjected to her fair share of hazing during her youth, as reported by Oxenberg.

Oxenberg revealed to The Post that the British royal family enjoyed making fun of von Reibnitz after her marriage in 1978 to Prince Michael of Kent, a first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.

The way Meghan has been treated “was the same way she was treated,” she said, “with this mocking and lack of respect.” We used to tease her about how she constantly called the royal family “delicious cousins.” Did Hazing more out of routine than malice or the desire to incite violence? I saw it happen.

Princess Elizabeth of Yugoslavia (Oxenberg’s mother) was a second cousin to King Charles III, and the two were going through some difficult times. Oxenberg was 16 at the time. Princess Elizabeth became engaged to Richard Burton in the years between his marriages to Elizabeth Taylor and New York dressmaker Howard Oxenberg. (There was no wedding between Prince Hal and Burton.)

Oxenberg claims that the hazing has been especially severe for Meghan, who married Prince Harry in 2018. She emphasized that the country was harsh, particularly towards outsiders. “It’s not about your skin color. It’s about being a foreigner.” She did, however, label the press and some members of the royal family’s treatment of Meghan as “treasonous.” The British press has been closely monitoring Meghan’s every move since announcing her engagement, which was especially true during the funeral of Queen Elizabeth on Monday.

According to Oxenberg, Harry has chosen her to be his wife. “By their metrics, they have called it a class system. They devised that system [where] you have to accept Harry’s preference.
